1. Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information: information you voluntarily provide, and information collected automatically when you visit our site.
Information you provide: If you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This data is processed by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) and delivered to our inbox.
Information collected automatically: When you visit CollegeAidCalc, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and analytics service (Google Analytics 4) automatically collect standard web log data including your IP address (anonymized), browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time on site.
2. Calculator Inputs — Not Collected
All calculations on CollegeAidCalc — SAI/EFC estimates, loan payment calculations, repayment plan comparisons — run entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. No income figures, asset values, loan balances, or any other financial data you enter into our calculators is transmitted to our servers or stored by us. We have no technical ability to see calculator inputs.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to: operate and improve the website; respond to contact form submissions; analyze site traffic and usage patterns to improve our tools; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for targeted advertising, credit decisions, or sale to third parties.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 sets the following cookies:

We have enabled IP anonymization in GA4. We do not use GA4 remarketing, advertising, or demographic features. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cloudflare may set a __cflb or cf_clearance session cookie for security and load balancing purposes. These cookies do not track personal information.
5. Third-Party Services
CollegeAidCalc uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

6. Advertising
CollegeAidCalc displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies (including DoubleClick cookies) to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
We also participate in affiliate programs with student loan refinancing companies (SoFi, Earnest, Credible). These links are disclosed per FTC guidelines. Clicking affiliate links may result in cookies being set by those third-party sites under their own privacy policies.
7. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not share your personal information with third parties except: (a) service providers listed in Section 5 who process data on our behalf; (b) when required by law, subpoena, or court order; (c) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Berean Defense, LLC, our users, or the public.
8. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained in our email inbox for as long as operationally necessary, typically no more than 3 years. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our GA4 settings. Cloudflare access logs are retained per Cloudflare's standard retention schedule (typically 30 days for free-tier accounts).
9. Security
Our website is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption via Cloudflare. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no internet transmission is completely secure. Contact form messages are transmitted via FormSubmit's encrypted service.
10. Children's Privacy
CollegeAidCalc is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
11. California Residents — CCPA Rights
Your California Privacy Rights (California Consumer Privacy Act)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

12. Nevada Residents
Nevada residents may submit a request to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A. To confirm this or make a related inquiry, contact us at [email protected].
