1. Not Affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education

CollegeAidCalc is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid (FSA), FAFSA, or any college or university.

The Student Aid Index (SAI) estimates, Pell Grant estimates, and financial aid projections on this site are produced by independent calculations based on publicly available federal formulas. They are not official determinations. Your actual SAI is calculated by the U.S. Department of Education upon FAFSA submission. Your actual aid package is determined solely by each school's financial aid office.

2. Results Are Estimates Only — Not Financial Advice

All outputs from CollegeAidCalc calculators — including SAI estimates, net cost projections, loan payment amounts, repayment plan comparisons, and forgiveness projections — are estimates for general planning and informational purposes only.

CollegeAidCalc is not a licensed financial advisor, student loan counselor, or certified financial planner. Nothing on this website constitutes financial, legal, or tax advice. You should consult a certified financial aid counselor (NFAA member), a licensed financial advisor, or your school's financial aid office for guidance specific to your situation.

3. SAI / EFC Estimate Accuracy

Our SAI/EFC estimator uses a simplified version of the Federal Methodology formula. Your actual FAFSA-calculated SAI may differ due to factors including but not limited to: untaxed income, Social Security benefits, IRA distributions, business or farm assets, dependency overrides, professional judgment adjustments by financial aid administrators, and changes to federal regulations after the date of this disclosure.

The 2025 FAFSA Simplification Act substantially changed the SAI formula. Our calculator reflects our best interpretation of the 2026 rules. Regulations and their implementation may change.

4. IDR Plan Rules Subject to Change

SAVE Plan Notice: The SAVE income-driven repayment plan has been subject to ongoing federal litigation in 2025–2026. Plan availability, payment percentages, and forgiveness timelines may change by court order or regulatory action. Always verify current IDR plan status at studentaid.gov before enrolling.

Income-driven repayment projections on this site are based on rules published as of 2026. IDR plans are subject to regulatory changes, court orders, and Congressional action. Forgiveness timelines are estimates only. Tax treatment of forgiven amounts depends on current federal and state law at the time of forgiveness.

5. Affiliate Link Disclosure (FTC 16 CFR Part 255)

CollegeAidCalc participates in affiliate programs with student loan refinancing companies including SoFi, Earnest, and Credible. If you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying loan application or refinance, we may receive a commission or referral fee from the lender at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our calculator outputs, editorial content, or recommendations. We do not receive compensation from lenders based on the results our calculators produce.

6. Loan Refinancing Risk Disclosure

Federal Loan Refinancing Warning: Refinancing federal student loans into private loans is an irreversible action that permanently eliminates eligibility for federal income-driven repayment plans (SAVE, PAYE, IBR, ICR), Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), federal deferment and forbearance, and discharge protections for death and total and permanent disability. Consider all options carefully before refinancing federal loans.

7. No Guarantee of Aid, Approval, or Outcomes

CollegeAidCalc makes no representation or guarantee that you will receive any specific amount of financial aid, qualify for any loan, be approved for refinancing, receive scholarship funds, or achieve any specific repayment outcome. All projections depend on factors outside our control including school aid policies, lender underwriting decisions, future income, and regulatory changes.

8. Interest Rate and Federal Data Accuracy

Federal student loan interest rates displayed on this site reflect the rates set for the 2025–2026 academic year. Rates are set annually each July 1 and may change. We make reasonable efforts to keep rate information current but cannot guarantee that all rate information is up to date at the time of your visit.

9. No Personal Financial Data Collected

All calculations on this website occur entirely within your web browser. No income figures, asset values, or personal financial information you enter into our calculators is transmitted to or stored by CollegeAidCalc or Berean Defense, LLC. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data practices.

10. "AS IS" Warranty Disclaimer and Liability Limitation

This website and all calculators are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Berean Defense, LLC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or reliance on any calculator output. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $100.
